How many miles out of RE11A?

How many miles out of RE11A?
Trying to choose tires for my street wheel setup. (second set of wheels)
I was gona go with a really cheap one like Hankook V12 Evo2 or 1 ($300 a set after rebate.. so cheap..)
But the whore in me started to get greedy and kinda want something better that I can track if I want.
Anyway, how many pure street miles would you expect to get out of RE11A's? How many track days (or heat cycles) would you expect out of them? (if they were track dedicated)
I have a feeling the V12 Evo2 will last too long (lol) if i'm not happy with its grip and want to explore other tires on this set of wheels. i wouldn't throw tires away with tread on it.

You're comparing different beasts. If I had to guess you might be able to squeeze 20k out of RE-11A's with very light driving and good alignment. Throw in track days and that will lower significantly. If you want tread life go with the Evo not the 11A's.

It's all going to depend on your alignment too. Aggressive rear toe is going to kill your tires no matter what you get. I havent run the hankook v12 evo 2 yet but I've had multiple sets of the original v12 and would get 20-25k out of fronts and 10-12k out of the rear, street driving only with rear toe in factory spec.

There are way too many factors to give a good educated guess for you (Driving style, alignment, road surfaces you usually drive on, types of driving conditions the car sees etc.) I can tell you that I got 12 track days (~22hrs of track time) plus something like 5,000 street miles out of my RE-11A using 255/40R17 non staggered. My alignment was roughly -3 degrees of camber all around, 0 toe front and minimal toe-in in the rear… something like 1/16 total. So far the regular RE-11 is the longest lasting EHP street tire I've used. If you had a good alignment and only street drove the car I don't doubt you could pull between 20,000 and 30,000 miles out of a set depending on how much freeway driving you do. If you drive the car really aggressively on abrasive surfaces (many mountain roads), track the car, and/or run a lot of toe in your alignment then that number will obviously be less. People pay too much attention to UTQG ratings, its really not that meaningful when it comes to performance tires… An EHP street tire that is 180 or 200 UTQG can easily outlast a max performance or UHP street tire that is 300+ UTQG depending on how severe the driving conditions are. With mostly track use an RE-11 will undoubtedly last longer than say an V12 evo 2, for example.

The answer as usual is 'it depends'. Type of driving makes the biggest difference. With spirited street driving I usually get about 15K on the rear from any HIPO summer tires and expect the same from the RE11A that I have mounted. Fronts usually go 25K.
I have totally gone through a set of tires in three days of hard track driving (maybe 600 miles) so your mix will make a big difference.

Got ~3500 miles on my 255 RE11As and I'm ~1/32'' above the center wear bar on the rears lol!!!! They're wearing great, just fast. Not alignment related either, purely hard driving. Going to dismount and rotate F to R(staggered offsets), should be able to get 7000-8000 out of them.

I was thinking they'd be a 10,000 mile tire if you don't do monthly autoX events. I don't expect any street tire to last an entire year of AutoX AND daily driving for me. I typically run two setups. street and AutoX/track. the DD tires picked up some screws (two tires, one front and one back staggered) so I go screwed out of 4,000 good miles. One wasn't patchable .

RE11As On My E36 M3 I'm estimating that I have 11 events and about 100 autoX runs and 7,000 to 8,000 street miles. They have just barely enough tread for light rain right now. this is rotating a square setup front to back and side to side though. Camber wear on outside bc not enough camber.

I plan to run two sets as well. RS3 square 245's for track/autox (instead of 255 only because I found a really really good deal) and Sumitomo HTR Z3 staggered (215 and 235 like stock) for street.
Hopefully RS3's will last as long as your RE11A's. Once i'm done with the first set of RS3's i can't wait to try out the RE11A's!!!
