I recently purchased Hankook V12 evo2's in 225/255. They are about 4-5 pounds lighter than typical tires and have much softer sidewalls than typical performance tires. The result is a fantastic ride for my 2004 S2000. Yes, you do suffer some loss of steering response. So what? You can get much of it back by raising the tire pressure to 35, while still maintaining a good ride. As for cornering power, the V12 evo2's are "on par" with other reasonably inexpensive performance tires. AND, they are better handling on rough roads!

Interestingly enough, Tirerack has the older versions on closeout. They are quite similar.
