Default Help me choose a Tire

I am looking for a set of Summer Tires for my Civic Coupe. I have 17" wheels and need to fit 205-40-17 Tires. I am looking for a Summer tire with good wet/dry handling characteristics, has a strong sidewall construction to protect the rim. Also, one that will not wear out very fast. My Civic is my daily driver so I will also need somthing that is not too noisy and harsh.

I would appreciate peoples opinions

Here is what I've narrowed it down to

Bridgestone RE-730 Z Rated 300 AA A

Kumho Ecsta 712 W Rated 280 AA A

Yokohama A520 180 A A

Yokohama Parada 300 A A

Dunlop SP Sport 9000 280 A A

Pirelli P-7000 Supersport

Thanks!

I only had try Bridgestone Potenza RE-730 here.

it is to replace the OEM S02 on my 00

great tire that the grip is slightly less than OEM s02 of S2000 (but you know tread life last alot longer.)

so i recommand that...but i never try the other choices here...

Yes, definately price is why I have the Kumho's as one of my choices....but I have heard mixed reviews on them....

I would really like the Re730's but they are way more expensive than the Kumhos....remember this is for my Civic, so i dont really want to spend too much on tires.... Id rather spend more money for new wheels/tires for the S

Thanks for the responces sofar....Anyone else???

I have the Kumho's on the back of my S2K and like them very much. My S2K is a daily driver too, and for a daily drive like your Civic, I can't see how you could go wrong. I'm running 245/45 16's and will put 224/50 16's on the front when the S02's go. The Kumho also protect the rim much better that the original equipment S02"s. Good luck!

The Dunlop's were on my car for a month while I waited for the 03's to come in. They were fine, really. Excellent grip, held like a tiger on one really fast left to right. Maybe, maybe a bit twitchy. The 03's feel like the 02's to me. A little smoother but still the fantastic holding power - It hasn't rained yet so I don't know about wet. With the Dunlops there was no such thing as rain. Even really deep puddles it just handled. Yes, I could skid it but when I did (on purpose) it was a nice, even kind of skid (by making a turn real fast and accelerating). Hope this helps.

I've had two sets of RE 730s on a 3rd Gen Z and one set on an A4 1.8T. The tires are hard to find fault with--they last A LOT longer than any other tire I've tried that grips so well--and wet grip was unbelievable. My only complaint was that they squealed a lot when pushed to the limit of adhesion.
