Help! I have 4 rear wheels?
Ok,
I bought set of used SSR GT1 from a board member. The rims and tires were shipped but I can't make heads or tails of which is front and which is back.
This is what I have; all 17' BTW
2 rims not marked and tires sized 235/40 17
2 Rims 17.5 and tires 225/45
-I looked on the tire rack site and they recommend 205/50 for front? Any advice? How can run the current set-up till I get some different tires. BTW, the 235/40 are brand new.
thanks

Well, on our cars, the wider size goes on the rear.
You also should check the hub size of the wheels. On the car, the front hub diameter is larger than the rear (this is the center round thing in the middle of the lug threads).

So you got 235 and 225 width tires in which 235 should goto the rear.
Next time you get new tires though, I'd suggest to get at least 245/40 size.

hmm, I was thinking of going witht the 205/50/17 as recommended and then changing the rears when these run out (the fronts should be replaced soon anyway)

TENBLADE, tirerack is a replacement recomendation to a factory setup, this set up is for better looks and better handling etc. Don't be so concerned with tirerack's recomendation. 235 in the rear 225 up front, then drive, simple.
