Wouldn't you have a completely different offset? probably one that would be poking about 4 inches out of the fender?

he means mounting the faces on the backside of the lip that holds the little bolts... it'll give you a little extra lip and yes, some lowering of the offset. Around 10mm I think?

Can't remember on which blog I first saw this though... was done to the LMs on a BMW...

As posted by S2K-F8:

Yup, that's it. On the LM's it gives you an extra .5" of lip (but changes the offset). Not sure if you can do it on the VS-XX (which I think you have IIRC).

In this pic, the left wheel has been back mounted and right is front mounted

The wheels look great back-mounted.

Unfortunately I could not leave them that way. When I bought the wheels (used) the rears had a 235/40 mounted on them (kind of streched). I recently had those removed and a nice meaty 265/35 mounted. With the wider tire I could not get the wheels to fit without rubbing (my rears are rolled with tab relocated). I dialed in as much negative camber as I could figure out how to do on my own, but no luck. I had to go back to front-mounted.

Bump for info. Does anyone have a write up of how to do this? I really want to flip the faces on my LM's but i cant find a write up. Specifically torque specs or any critical things to look for. Also i have heard this can be done without removing the tire? I cant see how this is possible but if anyone can chime in i would appreciate it.

I gotta say, visually there doesn't seem to be much difference. The actual dimension of the straight part of the lip looks to be ~3/4" in both pics. So the face of the wheel has moved, but the lip remains the same? And with less offset, you are more likely to get rubbing.

Personally, I wouldn't bother.
