I run a 255/40 Star Spec in the rear. I can't really tell any difference in gearing between the 2, considering that it's like 3/10ths larger OD. Also, according to a gps speedo, the speedo in my car is dead accurate up to 80 mph.

According to a tire size calculator, 245 vs 255 is ~0.8mph difference @ 60mph.
