Default Had some rubbing..may need advice

On my AP1 I have a set of 5Zigen Pro Racer GN+ wheels, size 17 x 7.5 front and 17 x 8.5 rear, and I believe the offset is +48 all around. In the rear I have 245/45/17's and the fronts have no rubbing problems. I recently installed a pair of ASM overfenders and because of the look I spaced the rear wheels out 1 inch, with plans of also lowering the car with a set of Espelir's on back order. I took the car on a long trip this weekend and bottomed out repeatedly ( at stock ride height) in the rear, taking out chunks of rubber in a perfect circle on my rear tires. I pulled the wheels off yesterday and rolled my fenders in a bit, as I could see exactly where the fender hit the tires. I have cancelled my Espelir order because there is no way I can handle a 2 inch drop. Now what do I do? Should I run a lower profile tire in the rear and lower it just 1 inch? Will camber help? I hadnt noticed any rubbing at all before I moved the wheels out 1 inch with the spacer. Any ifo will help. Thanks.

I think you answered your own question. A one inch space is more than 25mm. You turned your +48 offsets into a +23.

On top of that, wouldn't you really want to be running a 245-40-17 in the rear?

Remove the one inch spacer and get a 10mm spacer, or less (not sure what other sizes they're available in).

You also have a tire that is 1" taller than stock. Go with the 245/40R17 and you will probably solve the rubbing problem.

Thanks for the info. Do you think dropping to a 40 will allow me to keep the 1 inch spacer? or am I better off doing both? And will a stiffer spring help reduce the squat that occurs when going over dips and bumps? Thanks again.

shoulda just ran a wider rim, and tire that deletes the spacer and gives you a very clean look

On 17's your suppose to run a 245-40

The 45 series is most likely rubbing on your Rear bumper tab. Relocate that and cut down a piece from your rear bumper. Rub free
