Default GTU 18's

Planning of getting GTU 18's, with I believe +50 offsets (18x7.5 and 18x8).
The tire size that was "recommended" are 225/40 and 255/35. My car is lowered 1", and I am afraid of rubbing. I had ASA 17's ( +48 front and +62 rear offsets)before with 225/45 front and it rubbed a little.
Should I go 215/40 and 245/35 instead?
Appreciate your input. Thanks.

The recommended tire sizes are 225/40 front and 245/35 rear. 255 is not recommended for the 8" width, although I have seen some people do it.
