+1 for Direzza Star Specs. Get some OEM 17" wheels so you can run larger tires. 225front/255rear for me... I can't say enough good about the Star Specs.

Quoted for truth. I'm on 235/255 Star Specs and am continually blown away by the grip these things provide. These have got to be one of the stickiest "normal" street tires on the market. I've got ~110,000 S2000 miles and these are the best performing tires I've been on yet. I do question the treadwear rating though.

I'm sure the Yok S.drive is a great tire for a 300 treadwear Ultra High Perf Summer tire. But it has to be sacrificing some grip vs. softer, shorter-life Max and Extreme Perf tires like the RE01R, *spec, AD07, etc.

Yok ES100 is an older model UHP tire, and isn't rated nearly as highly as the S.drive within that category.

As for the extreme performance tires, here's Tire Rack's comparison testing:
RE01R vs. Direzza *spec vs. RS2 vs. AD07

Grassroots Motorsports testing showed RE01R superior to the Azenis RT-615 in lateral grip and in autoX times.

i have tried those two tires, but i didn't like them because the traction wasn't that great.

Bridgestone RE01R,Falken Azenis RT-615, bridgetone pole position, hankook rs2. (tires that i bought and didn't like due to traction)

i have a greddy turbo charged s2k with 4.56 gears, what brand of tires do you guys recommend.

i was looking at the yokohama s drive.
Well those are the highest performance street tires available, and the same tires are winning national level autocross events (except the Hankooks, and I hate them too). You can't get stickier without going to r-comps or drag radials. You'll also be very hard presed to find more rigid sidewalls than those tires when it comes to street tires, though stiffer sidewalls will be bad for straight line traction. Your stock wheels don't do well for fitting wider tires at all. If you want wider tires then you'll probably need to upgrade to 17" wheels (which will open a huge amount of combinations based on the width/offset of the tires).

IMO too! The S. Drive is awesome. It's the best tire I've ever owned by far. It grips like a whore trying to steal your wallet, stays quiet like your best friend's wife when you're boning her in the bathroom at a party, looks pretty when mounted, saves you cash like Great Recession lapdance pricing and still loves you long time!

Bear in mind that I'm running 225/40/18 front & 265/35/18 rear, so I've got more grip than if I was running stock sizes. (Especially compared to OEM AP1.)

Info from Tire Rack so you can compare tires... They have the resources to do real comparison tests; I've just got an S2000 that gets hurled around corners daily.

I'm running Kumho ecsta XS's on my AP2 and the cornering grip is great but I can break grip kinda easy if I drop into second to fast. I do have 4.56 gearing so that may make a difference. This is also the first summer performance tire I have tried.

I'm jealous. I have neither an AP2 nor 4.56's. (How do you like the gears, BTW?) But as you can see, I'm pretty damn happy with my S. Drive's!
