Default GN+ Pro Racer Model Specific Wheels

Hi All,

I imported a set of 5 Zigen GN+ Pro Racer Forged Wheels for the S2000. On the 5zigen website, it is listed as :

Front : 17 x 8.0 +40 offset
Rear : 17 x 9.5 + 62 offset

I've put on Toyo Proxes T1-S :

Front : 225 45 R17
Rear : 245 40 R17

Putting on the alloy wheels, I've then realised that the front wheels seem to be sitting out too far, ie the offset is not big enough on the front.

I've heard people saying that +48 is the right offset to go. However, 5zigen have listed these wheels as specific for the S2000. See 5Zigen www.5zigen.co.jp. GN+ Pro Racer Wheel and scroll all the way to the bottom.

I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on the matter.

Nick

+40 is going to cause some major rubbing up front

They say to use that front size if youre running big brake kits and have flared out fenders, like the js racing s2k. you might be able to make it fit better on stock fenders if you camber the rims in a bit...

Are you sure the GN+ you have are forged? To my knowledge, GN+ wheels are all cast. Unless 5Zigen came out w/ a new forged version.

GN+ does have a forged version, but it's not available in the US yet. The price is about double of the cast version, so why not just go with volks?

Thanks for the help. I'll try and get the wheels cambered in and put lower profile tyres on them. 225 40 R 17 or 215 40 R 17. Would that help?

Oh yeah, they are definitely forged. Same weight as the Volk CE28Ns on my Integra Type R

Wow, nice. I always liked the look of the GN+, but picking up a 17" at a shop, it was quite heavy (well, relative to forged and some lighter cast wheels...not too bad compared to many other brands). Nice to see they came out w/ a forged version and w/ decent offsets for the s2k! Do they offer a 17x7.5 or 17x7 w/ an offset to fit the S (about +45 to +50)?

i have these rims in matt silver from edgeracing.com ( for Leo and their crew) from the offset and size you just mentioned, i THINK you might rub.

the fronts are 18x7.5 +52 with 225/40/18 tires and the rears are 18x8.5 +48 with 245/40/18 tires..

i havent installed them yet since i havent had much time lately cuz of school and work.. once i get em on, ill comment back with fitment and handling issues..
