Default Getting new wheels

i'm about to replace my OEM wheels & tires.

the new size wheels and tires:

front: 17x7 +45 offset with 215/45/17
rear: 17x7 +48 offset with 245/40/17

I like to have 255/40/17 to the rear, (just because it looks more aggressive, i don't drive hard). I've read through this forum (wheel fitment guide), and the minimun offset requirement is +50 for the rear. Will this 255 tire rub?

thanks again

1. You shouldn't be running the same width of rim on all 4 corners.
2. You shouldn't be trying to put a 255 tire on a 7" wide rim. A 245 tire is already stretching it and is NOT recommended.

It probably won't rub in most circumstances, but given the 2 points above, you are making a big mistake.

OK, keep in mind that the OEM 17" rim is 8.5" wide and uses a 245 tire. Many have put a 255 tire on without problems. A 255 tire on an 8" rim is pushing it a bit but will work if you drop the pressure some. But that 48mm offset is 17mm short of ideal. You will stick out just over 1/2" beyond what a stock tire would. If you are lowered, you will likely rub. If you are stock height, you will likely not rub.

Something else to consider. If you are going with 255s on the back, you really should be going with 225 on the front and with that offset, the front will rub on severe suspension compression.
