Default Fitting 225's on the front

I know it's another wheel fitment thread but please bear with me here. I'm planning on getting new rims and all I want to know is can I put a 225 tire on a wheel with a offset less than 53? I read the fitment guide and it was minimum of 53 on a 7" to 8" wheel but the wheels I want for the front are a 17X7 +49. Is it too much of a stretch or is it doable? Or am I crazy.

Are you lowered or plan to lower? You may need to roll the fronts but even then 7 +49 is still pretty conservative. Shock height should be fine.

Just out of curiosity - what are the wheels you are considering?

225 on a 17x7 is not a stretch at all. In fact that's a huge tire for a narrow wheel.

I don't think OP means "stretch" in the sense of small tire on wide wheel.

I'm planning on putting some Enkei RPf1's on the car. She is gonna be a track/daily driver so I'm gonna stay staggered, I know for the ap2 I need a 1.5" offset but would a 1" ifdaer be acceptable. I'm thinking 17" 7.5" front 17" 9" rear. I believe that is the right stagger, according to the wheel fitment thread. I will probably need to roll fenders. I also plan to get a set of Ohlins track and road coilovers.

i'm in for info, i'm also planning to do 16x7.5" in the front for a square setup with 225 RE11's all around, pretty sure it'll fit without rolling of the fenders, but just in case!

with rpf1's all your going to get is 215/245 on stock rims and stock fenders, if you want bigger on rpf1's you need to roll the fenders or stretch the rims
