Fitment Question

Fitment Question
I've already searched and know that this is a bit of an extreme fitment, but here's the question:
I test fit an old set of 7.5" wheels with a +45 offset and 245/50/16 tires. Using a jack to compress the suspension they clear without rubbing even at full lock on the front wheels.
Now, if I go to an 8" wheel all around, +35 offset, but with narrower tires, I should still clear correct? I'd run a 205/45/17 up front and a 225/45/17 rear.
I am at the stock ride height, stock suspension, and don't have any plans to lower the car. I figure I can also pull some camber if need be.

I fit 8" +40 with a 245/40/17 all the way around with rolled fenders and relocated tab. Pretty sure they wouldn't fit without the roll. If you don't lower your car with those offsets it's going to look exactly like the picture.

Ok, it was a bit of an exaggeration. The fact remains that the only way to avoid rubbing with stock fenders is such a high ride height that they will never make contact. It's just not a good look, wheels will stick out past fender with stock alignment.
Bottom line, 8" +35 is a terrible size. Then you want to compound a bad wheel fitment with running a bad tire fitment, 205/45 front? Run at least 225/45 all around or 245/40 like S_DosMil would be even better. It really needs to be lowered and cambered in to look right though.
It's your car, just trying to give constructive criticism. My opinion, run OEM AP2 wheels and call it a day. NO wheel will look better/correct at stock height and that includes all high priced JDM wheels. I'd run OEM AP2 over 8" +35 CE28. It will allow you to run 225/45, 255/40 tires which will look nice AND perform.

He comes on asks a question. Gets an answer he doesn't like. Comes back and basically says his math is right and we are idiots and hasn't logged in since. Would love to see the pictures. I'm sure it looks funny that's why he hasn't posted again.

Let's be real, he already had his mind made up and was going to put them on regardless. Ironic, because the actual math tells you that it is not a good choice. Can they work with undersized tires at stock height? Sure.
