Default Fitment / lowering guru’s question

Hey everyone,

im pretty new into the s2k platform and he a few questions. I have a set of ohlins and 17x9.5+46 ce28’s coming.
2 questions if y’all would be able to help clarify a few things if possible.

1. Lowering the car on the ohlins what’s all needed to run the wheels? Do I need aftermarket control arms or stock adjustments ok? Axle spacers required?

2. I’m trying not to rub or bacon up a fender. What tire size would you recommend for DD, and amounts of negative camber to be expected front/rear?

thank you for your help!

That sounds like an awesome setup. While I don't have your exact setup I have eye balled that setup before and run 17x9.5+51 with 255 all around so I think I can at least provide some perspective. You will need a fender roll front and back with rear bumper tab clearance. With +46 offset you might need ever so slight of a pull at the front. I would recommend on investing on some sort of front camber kit since you probably will need to run a decent amount of camber. Either offset upper control arm bushings or a lower control arm camber joint will work. On my setup I have offset lower camber joints at the front and run -3.0*F/-3.5*R camber. I have about ~5-10 mm space from the tread block to the fender lip at the front and ~15-20mm space in the back. I have eye balled 17x9.5+46 w/ 255 on my car before and it was slightly more aggressive than I liked but seemed doable. The tread block would sit almost exactly at the fender lip at the front so I ended up playing it safe with a +51 setup. I think that likely camber gain on compression probably would have given me the clearance but unfortunately I don't have the proof for that. That said there's extensive documentation on the 17x9.5+47 unicorn setup on this website and it seems most people get away with "track" camber and a "standard" fender roll too. What's 1mm difference?

You’ll need to roll your fenders flat at minimum. Maybe light pull up front unless you do offset bushings from origin.

I would run 245/40/17 on that size.

Exactly what he said. The front will need a pull unless you run those bushings.

I have the same spec wheels. My fronts are rolled flat and pulled a bit. The rears are rolled (not flat) and tab relocated. Running a 255/40 all around at the moment. No idea what the alignment settings are at right now lol. Like the others have said, I'd run the origin offset bushings if you don't want to pull your front fenders.

I ran -2.6 on the rear with 17x9.5 +43 and 245/40/17 S007A.

Fenders rolled flat.

-2.6 should work up front if you use offset bushings. Otherwise I’d aim for -3 personally.

I'd agree w/ at least -3 in the front. You never really can predict everything. Even w/ that much camber and only 255+57 offset I managed to catch my fenders slightly with heavy suspension compression during a heavy braking and turning zone down hill. Wasn't even when I turning into a curb for a parking lot like I initially feared. After seeing those photos I think it might be worth investing on the UCA offset bushings. Hard to tell what the alignment is from this angle but seems to be a decent amount and even despite a pull it's still pretty close.
