Default Final decision on wheels, need offset help!

Just want to make sure on a couple things before purchasing. I am looking
at a 17x7.5 +49 and a 17x8.5 +58 combo. I have a 1 inch drop and I want to make sure the the fronts will be ok with out any mods. I was thinking of a 215/255
combo to be safe. What I would really like is a 225 up front.

One last question, I can get the same wheels in a 8.5 +58 up front and a 9.5 +68 rear. Would this be overkill??

Thanks for the help
John

im not so sure about a 225 on the 7.5+49. you will most likely rub unless you dial in some negative camber.

the back seems like it would be fine.

however, i think the 8.5+58 and 9.5+68 would be pretty cool. it would fit 225/255 without a problem and i think would look better being slightly more aggressive.

Thanks for the insight so a 215 on the front would be fine. 7.5 +49 with a 215 tire

I am tempted to go 8.5 front and 9.5 rear

Go with the wider setup and run the 225/255 setup, it fits fine.

^^^Is their any real point? Because I can go 215/255 with the 7.5/8.5 set up? Would that not be pretty much the same? Plus I would have less weight.(splitting hairs)

215 / 255 will give you more understeer.

run the 225, on a +49 will be fine. I am running 225 on +50 no issues. I barely rub and it mostly do to my suspension being too soft

^^
Thanks for the info, when you say barely rub where does it rub?
You are not close to the fenders? Or is it the liners? Lastly what type of tires are you running? I am thinking of going to the RT-615's

I am running the same tires (615's) it rubs on the push tab that holds the fender liner on (the one towards the top but not dead center, more towards the front of the car).

On the rear you may rub slightly on the 10mm that holds the bumper to the quarter panel. If you have a semi stiff or stiff suspension you should be fine. When I say very little rubbing I mean zero damage to the tires w minimal damage to fender liner.

I am running Tein S Techs with stock shocks and it is just not up to par . If rubbing is a big deal then stick to OE size tires and you wont have this issue. Larger sway bars may also fix this due to less body roll under hard cornering, but I dont know for sure.
