A few tire/wheel/plus sizing questions
Hi, just bought my my04 last week and am thinking wheels (duh).
eitherwho, here are my questions.
1) suggestions on a good flat black/dark grey wheel with a polished lip that will work for the S and isn't insanely heavy? I kinda like multi spokes, but I am really picky. the ce28nf doesnt' appeal to me because of the centercap, and I don't think I like a deep lip, but I have seen it look good on a few wheels.
2) If I go to 18's could I keep the stock sidewall height? I really don't want to add any more "bumpiness" to the ride, it is about right as it is. Will this hurt the car (I realize I will need to do something to correct the speedo), I have heard that it will affect abs or something? Should I just keep the 17s?
3) I want to go wider in the back, and keep approx the same front width, anyone run this setup?
4)Oh yeah, any idea how much the stock wheels weigh?

1) Take a look through this forum and the gallery. You'll find something you like.
2) Not worth it. Differences in sidewall stiffness from tire to tire will make more difference than 17s vs 18s. Why bother with potential rubbing and speedo issues?
3) Sure, people do it. But other than looks, there is probably not a good reason to do so. That said, if you stray from the OEM tires (fronts are narrow for a 215), you'll likely reduce the amount of tread width stagger unless you go with more than 30mm of stagger front to rear.
4) 17.6 & 20.5 lbs
