so if I were to get for example: 18x10.5 +15 ( I think that’s the only fitment for RPF1 on 10.5 size) and getting the 275/40 tires will this be too wide for the ASM fender flares?
Too wide. That offset will make them stick out well beyond the asm fender unfortunately. You need to be in the +40 target range with that wheel width.

You could do their 10 +38. But no point in moving to 18's if your going to stick with 275/40. You wouldn't want that profile for an 18" anyway. You would want to move to a 275/35/18. Just stick to 275/40/17 with a 10 +38 for cost purposes. Only move to an 18" if your willing/able to size a wheel and tire 10.5+ with a 285+

Yeah if you are going 18's you are going to need an entirely different set of wheels unforntunately. As Junky said the 17x10 +38 will be your best option for keeping tire costs lower and fitting under the overfenders nicely. I run 17x10 +35 with a 255 in the rear and it fits under the ASM overfender perfect.

17x9+45 can easily be put on the stock body. With asm flars you want a 10.5 to 11.5 inch wide rim with an offset in the +40 to about +50 with a 295 to 315 size tire.

Here are my custom rpf1 in 17x11.5+50 with a 295/35/17 tire. There more clearance so i'll be going to a 315/35/17 soon.

i still fail to see the point of the time and expense of fender flares when a 285/30 can easily fit the stock body with a 10.5-11 inch wide rim with an offset in the +50to+60

The way i see it is the point of flares is because you need/want more grip and you have max out the amount of space in the stock wheel wheel and therefore to go wider you must pust some tire and rim out. Why cut your quterpanels to install flares to push out the rim/tire than you still got room on the inside...

Thanks you guys

Rice - love the fitment on your car, I am going to keep the SBC RPF1s in the front. with that being said what would you recommend on exact fitment for the rears (of course making sure its the SBC finish). I would like to keep it around the 17's

I have 275/40/17 drag radials on my spare rims. The issue with Mickey Thompson and other drag radials is that yes that do grip amazing and will let you put down over 600whp with out issues but the issue is that you can no longer take turns fast anymore. It makes your car a straight line car only. Personally I keep the drag radials for drag racing and I much prefer a super wide 295to 315 extreme performance tire for street driving even though the straight line grip is much less than a 255or275 drag radial.
