Thanks I appreciate the feedback guys - really helpful to hear it from those with first-hand experience. I can get a set of of (4) 245/40/17 installed w/ lifetime balance from a local shop for ~$450. I may have to give them a try.
Second - saying they are "generally thought to be the best high performance tire available" is ridiculous, and nothing but a personal, unsubstantiated opinion.
Third - did you even read my posts? I have AP2v2 rims w/ RE11a tires for the light track duty I partake in, so these are mainly for cruising around.
Last - your post is adding nothing to this thread, which was specifically inquiring about real-world experiences w/ Federal 595SS tires in the rain.
Thanks

Even in Taiwan I'm sure they prefer the PSS to the Federal.
Thanks

had these for my fall/winter tires for last 5 years. They are finally toast but mainly due to camber wear. Always felt safe on them in the rain here in OR. I would buy these again for sure.

Thanks for the input! I actually ended up picking up a set of 245/40/17 BFG Gforce Comp 2 (all around). The tire placed hooked me up with a pretty good price - after rebate it comes out to $480 installed/balanced. I'll post up a new thread after I get the wheels on. Depending on how these are I may still give the Feds a try later on.
