I've had 3.5 sets of Azenis for about 20,000 miles now...about a 1/4 dedicated to track time.
My opinions:
1) Track - They are very nice on the track...great grip and I've seen plenty of Azenis owners posting great lap times.
2) Durability - Uh, yeah they don't get great milege with a 200 treadwear rating. But they are high performance street tires...what do you expect?
3) Value - In terms of performance / cost ratio, I'd say Azenis would rank somewhat high.
4) Rain - They SUCK. I've driven them at the track and on streets/highways in the rain, they are terrible. Just look at the tread pattern... Be very careful in the rain on these tires...
Overall, I'd rank them very good in my limited tire experience. However, I am looking to mix-it-up and I am switching to Bridgestone RE050's soon. I've heard great reviews (stinkytofu had a good one...can't find link...)
Cheers

Have a set now...rain is scary. Mine haven't lasted too long...but then they have a couple autoxes and a Dragon on them. I might get 6k miles on the rears.
One big drawback I found is that these tires are very heavy. I have 17" CE28N + 255s in the rear and that combo is 2lb heavier than oem ap1 wheels with a 245 Hankook RS2. Now it's a lot more rubber, but the CE28Ns are a lot lighter than the oem wheels. I can really feel the weight on acceleration.

Check out the Hankook Z212 RS2 as well. For driving on the street, they should handle water better than the Azenis and provide nearly the same amount of grip. They'll also be cheaper in the same sizes.

i was gonna get neo gens for the fronts. wish they had them in the back but they dont. i had them on my type r hatch for over 2 years and i had a big drop and, they never wore out. They are designed for extreme camber on cars.

I dont know why everyone is saying rain performance sucks
They can handle "ordinary" driving in the rain just fine, I do 70mph in the rain on the highway with them no problem. You just better slow down when its time for a real turn, which you should know to do because its raining.
I probably drive at 3/4 the performance of my normal daily driving in the rain with the azenis without a problem
on AP2 just run the 255/40/17 in the rear. For the front you can either run the 215 or 225. The 215 will bias you more towards understeer and the 225 will bring you towards oversteer land (which is nice for the ap2) supposing you put the 255 in the rear

Wet performance is not good - don't go above 60 mph on the highway at full to 3/4 tread. If you're under 1/2 tread, go 50-55. If you're at 1/4 tread and you're on the highway when it's raining - god help you.
With that said, dry performance is incredible.
