Default F225/45/17 R245/40/17 8inch AA

Probably talked thousand times.
Is this setup ok in 8 inch wheels?

I have calculated tire diameter with Rob Robinette's android program (carcalculator) and rear wheel looks smaller.
But due to a straight tire I guess that the tire will be more stretch then... bigger?

245 40 17
Tire diameter : 24,71
Section width : 9.64

225 45 17

Tire diameter : 24.97
Section width : 8.85

What do you think?

Run a 215/45 front if you want the diameter to match.

^This. Either 215/45 F & 245/40 R, or 225/45 & 255/40 if you want the OD to be the same.

Thanks for answering. Well probably 255 is too much for a 8inch tire so... I will have to choose 245 for rear? Rims are impreza sti's and I guess they are not exact 8 inch but 8.25

Kind regards

If you have. Square setup why not just run 245/40s all the way around?

Well you are right. But the tires I would like to buy go from 235 to 255. Probably I can look for other 245 brand.

What tires are you looking at? 255 is to much for an 8" that's a personal thought. 245/40 looks and fits pretty damn good.

Echoing the other opinions here, I think 245/40 all around is the best way to go.

Which tires are you looking at?

Nankan ns2r 120 compound.

This wheels go from 225 - 235 to 255.

Now am running a allarround 225 set and I feel that 225 is too narrow for rear. With the puddy4.77 corner acceleration is difficult in second gear...

Yeah, I'd definitely look at a different tire honestly.

Any of the usual suspects would work well. RS3, AD08R, Z2 SS, etc...
