They will work but you are changing the dynamics of the car. If I were you I would purchase 2 of those (for the fronts) and run the 8.5 or 9 application for the rear.

17x8 45
17x9 45

the rears are special order only from japan........ and if you want white, thats also special order......

17x9 +45 will stick out.
You can run 17x7.5 front w/ a 215 tire and run 17x8 +45 rear w/ a 245...even then, it'll be close in the rear. I know a place that can custom widen wheels, but that involves cutting half the rim hoop away and rewelding.

it's not the width thats the problem. it's the offsets......

as for cutting the wheel in half and rewelding it would be bad for a wheel... it'll lose it's structural integrity...and is not worth it...

i realize that a 8 or 9 inch wheel in the rear would be the best, but nobody has them. i called 50 different places and everyone says either they cant get them or it'll take 3 months.

Yeah. That's about the turn around time for orders from Japan. Most people say 90 days. It sounds better, then 3 months.

Widening the wheel will change the offset along w/ it. If it starts out at an ok offset (i.e. 17x7.5 +48), it can be made to keep that same fender-to-wheel/tire clearance as it's widened, so you get the wider wheel w/ the same (good) fender clearance (offset adjusts w/ widening).
I do agree, tho, that structural integrity may be sacrificed, but keep in mind the SSR Comp-H wheels are also welded 1/2-pc hybrid wheels (just like this method). The inner hoop of the SSR Comp-H wheels is a slightly different alloy from the outter hoop and center.
