I saw a s2k at last weekend's autox with 17x9 +45 wrapped with Nitto NT01 255's and they looked ridiculous. I wouldn't mind a little higher like +50 or +63... in fact it's the only thing keeping me from picking up a set

I just called Enkei in Texas and talked with Andrew Werberig (Sales Rep) who was VERY helpful. I spent about 30 minutes with him on the phone. This is a great company, folks.

Andrew said to machine a custom wheel would require between 200-300 sets of wheels (that's PER SPECIFIC WHEEL, so double that for staggered set-up) and that it would take at least 120 days between order and delivery date.

Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to re-create the RPM-2 due to a mold issue. He said Enkei will most likely have a new mesh wheel in 2009.

He is getting in a shipment of RPF-1s in about a week.

I can call XXR next if anyone cares...

^^ do it! (as in call xxr if you can)

you the man Dave!

sucks how we have to order 600 wheels to get the custom set up.

maybe we can convince enkei to release s2k friendlier offsets on the new enkei mesh! if it looks good that is....

Called XXR and talked to Chris

The 003 (forged) is discontinued which means that's a no-go.

The 006 (mesh, my favorite) is a possibility.
He's going to run it up the flagpole.
I will call back in 2 hours (3:30pm my time) and get more answers.

He thinks something like 17x7.5 +45 and 17x8.5 +50 might be possible...

Chris at XXR said he could do the 006 like this:

17x8.5 +45
17x9.5 +45

I know that's not perfect, but it's better...

He would need a minimum of 15 people to want those wheels (30 sets total -- 15 front sets / 15 rear sets).

He could not estimate a cost since it all depends on how much it would cost him to machine them, but if enough people want this we can pursue it further. He would just need to test the wheel to make sure they were suitable for our use -- so this is not a guarantee.

FYI -- you take it from here.

Nice work, but I think the whole point was higher offsets to run wide tires without rubbing. In those widths I think you would need at least +55 or higher.
