Default Enkei RPF1 for AP1

Hey guys, this has probably already been a topic but wanted to get a straight forward answer/opinion from the other users. I am looking to purchase some black Enkei RPF1's for my 2003 Spa Yellow S2k. I don't know if I should go with 17's or 18's. What offset should I get and what is the widest I can go for both the front and rear? Thanks for the help.

17x9+45 all around with a 245/40/17 or a 255/40/17 tire.

is 255/40/17 hard to fit all around for 17x9 +45?

If you look in the Official RPF1 thread you'll have all your questions answered.

also depends if lowered or not, fenders rolled? Don't do 18s please.
No way are you fitting a 255 on a lowered AP1 without rolling fenders and some camber.

I have run MANY rpf1 setups on my car. 17x8/9 +45 with 225/45 and 255/40, 17x9 +45 x4 225/45 and 255/40, 17x9 +45 and 9.5 +38 225/45 and 255/40, and 9.5 +38 x4 with 255/40.

Bottom-line / straight forward answer is that it really depends on how much you want to do to the front fenders and how low you want to go. If you're wanting a conservative drop and want to maintain the bulk of your functionality as well as maintaining close to oem tire sizing, then I'd recommend 17x8 +45 front / 17x9 +45 rear, with 225/45/17 F & 255/40/17 R. Here is a picture of what that looks like:

Notice that the front spokes are "convex" or stick out some. Many people do not like the way that looks, so they end up going with the same size wheel both F & R, but they run different size tires on each. Like this:

To be transparent, the second picture is 17x9.5 +38 all around, with 245/40 F & 255/40 R, BUT the face of 17x9 +45 is exactly the same, as evidenced by the first picture. I say all this because if you do not like the convex look of the 8j +45, then I would run something more like: 17x9 +45 x4 with 235/40 F & 255/40 R.

In BOTH cases you need a good fender roll front and back, with fender tabs on the front either rolled out of the way or trimmed off. In the rear you would probably want to relocate the bumper attachment point further back and trim the inside of the rear bumper down to prevent rubbing. This is slightly visible right behind the rear wheel in the first picture.

Please feel free to PM me if you have further questions

*edit*

There is a 3rd option I forgot to mention, because it's mentioned earlier in the thread: If you feel comfortable with doing a little extra front fender work, you can go unstaggered with both wheel width and tire sizing. This has the added benefit of allowing you to rotate your tires for extended life you desire (as well as giving you additional front grip):

This is with 255's which would certainly require some additional work, but it looks just as good with 245's all around.
