I have the UK spec alignment and i run the x8/x9 +45 and i'm fine. Just had to roll the rears. look at the pic in my sig to see how low i am. i dont have problems of the fronts eating up my fenders on driveways either...i run 215 front and 255 rears on RT615 tires.

I just got my 8"/9" +45 combo on last week. Honestly, I think it looks perfect and wouldn't want a more conservative fitment. I'm running 215/45, 245/40 and it did rub slightly in the rear during hard cornering although I am lowered on Espelir springs. I just bought the S a couple weeks ago and I don't know what the alignment settings are. A slight roll in the rear took care of the rubbing problem and I did the front too just to be safe.
I know this is a popular wheel and for good reason. It has classic good looks and you can't beat the weight per dollar ratio. Here are few pics:

Falken doesn't make a 245/40 for the rear so you would need to run a 235/40/17 with around three degrees -camber. This is of course if you are not intending to roll your fenders are intending to slam your car.
