Had the tires mounted today, haven't had much chance to drive on them, but they feel a little more responsive than the Star Specs.

I have loved the Z1SS for at least 4 seasons. I just got the Z2 on today. Here's what I posted in the STR autocross thread. The wheels are Enkei PF-01 and tires are Z1SS vs. Z2 in 255/40-17 size. I like them so far.. a lot...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it almost looks like the Z2 is slightly wider than the Z1SS.
No, they measured the same.. Perhaps 1/8" difference at most since I didn't get out a laser measure LOL. Laying side by side as they were in the picture, they looked identical in width.

Sounds great. I was worried they'd run wider than the Z1SS. As it is with my setup, I really don't have any room to spare.

Are you asking about the ZII? If so, they have been out for about a month now. A few members have received their orders. There won't be solid reviews until spring time.

I haven't had a chance to do any agressive driving on them, but ive put about 200 miles on them now and I like them quite a bit. They feel smoother than the previous Star Specs, and less noisy as well... though you can definately hear a "hum" coming from them at highway speeds, its lower in the audible range.

Newer tires are always smoother and more quiet than worn tires, so honestly this doesn't mean much.

I'm more interested in things like responsiveness, grip, and breakaway characteristics.
