We have Potenza S-02's, not the Pole Position S-02's. The S-03's are all Pole Positions.

Here are a couple of links to The Tire Rack that give details on the differences:

After some more consideration and perusal of a lot of the *tire* posts, I think I'm going to stick (no pun intended ) with the S-02s.

Does anyone else think that there's a design flaw in either the S2K (yikes!!) or the S-02's that's resulting in the uneven tire wear? I have about 12K miles on the OEM tires and, like others on this forum, my rear tires are shot and the fronts have plenty of life in them. The rears are showing even wear across the tread on both sides.

It's not a flaw, in fact it's one of the reasons that the S2000 handles so well. OEM SO2s are high-performance W-rated tires that stick very well when dry and warm, but don't last very long. That's simply the nature of a rear mounted performance tire on a rear-wheel drive vehicle. If you want longer tire life or more even wear front to rear the tradeoff is less performance.

My rears wore out so fast I wish I could vote twice! The explanation I got was that the rear wheels are set to slightly toe in to help rear stability. That combined with the soft compound results in fast tire wear. Now that I've got 26,000 on the fronts, it looks like the camber is causing the fronts to wear on the inside faster than the outside.
