Does anyone run 205/50-17 in front and 255/40-17 in rear?

Just curious about this tire combination. I'm thinking about purchasing a set of 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 wheels, and have been mulling over different tire combos.
It seems like 205/50's and 255/40's are a very close match for tire diameter (25.0" to 25.1"). Also, it seems like this setup can provide a closer match to the staggered stock setup (when talking about percentage differences in section width between the fronts and rears) than say... 205/50 + 245/40, or 225/45 + 255/40.
Anyone out there run or condone the 205/50 + 255/40 setup?

I'd go with wider front tires.
I have 215/45 and 255/40 Bridgestone SO-3 on 17X7.5 and 17X9.0 wheels now but will probably go with 225/45 and 255/40 or 265/35 next time.
Narrow front tires might make the car less tail happy, but you'll also reduce car's braking ability.

Albert,
I'm running that combination using SO2's (N-4, Porsche's OE tires) on BBS RG-R's. I made the same observations regarding trying to main the proper stagger. I didn't want to sacrifice handling just for the sake of better looking wheels. Initial observations are, handling characteristics seem about the same as stock - although it keeps raining so I haven't had the opportunity to push the car too hard yet.

Thanks for the responses guys.
Hey SSX, I noticed on those S02's you're running that the overall tire diameter is 25.2" in the front and 24.8" in the back. Is the difference noticeable in anyway or is that too minute of an amount to matter?
And yeah... what's up with this raining non-sense?

i'm running 225s in front and 245s in the rear because it was closest to the stock diameters and i wanted to keep the tire weights down. in my amateur opinion, from driving the same challenging roads before and after, the car handles much better. i'm running BFG G-Force T/A KDs.
