Deals on lightweight wheels
Hi, all! I was wondering if anyone knows where to get a good deal on lightweight wheels. Particularly, I'm looking at the Mugen MF10s, since it appears that the Spoon wheels don't have the right offset. I'd also be interested in a set of JDM wheels.
Also, if anyone has recommendations for other wheels that can act for track and street wheels, I'd appreciate it. Strength is very important, as is light weight.
Thanks!

It looks like the best size for our application would be:
17x7.5" +50 (F)
17x9.0" +63

The best bang for the buck I have is the ASA FR1 at 17X8 242.00 each and 17X9 249.00 each. They are a forged 2 piece 5 spoke wheel with a polished lip. Weght and price wise they would be the best.

Hey, Jim-
Here's a recommendation. For the Tire Rack web site, the wheel specs should include the offset and the weight. Offset should definitely be a requirement, as that will affect the fitment on your car. Weight is probably optional, because only enthusiasts will really care about that.
Anyway... just a recommendation. Until then, can you give me the weight and offsets on those FR1s? At a glance, they don't really look strong enough for racing, though.

I doubt the Tire Rack will post offsets. They won't even tell you if you call. Jim appears to be the exception. It seems that they consider their fitment database to be proprietary, since it gives them some degree of a tactical edge in the marketplace.
The result is that prospective wheel buyers need to do some research, take some measurements, and use websites like http://gs.tolan-hoechst.com/tirecalc.htm to calculate exactly how a new tire/wheel combination will fit.
