ok....
I am making a decision on a new set of wheels, one of them is the Volk SF Challenge. I still have a set of Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD-3 tires 225/40/18 and 265/35/18.
The SF Challenge comes in 18x7.5 +48mm and 18x8 +48mm for the S2000.
Volk also has a 18x9 +48 mm size.
I was wondering if I could get this resurfaced to raise the offset to S2000 specs. If so, how much should I machine it too?? What is the proper offset for a 18x9 wheel?
My last wheels (Antera 309's), were 18x8 +50mm and 18x10 +58mm with minor rubbing on 265 tires. I have heard that people were machining the Antera rear wheels by 4mm , ending up with 18x10 +62mm, to get rid of the rubbing issues.
How would I calculate the difference I need for the SF Challenges? I came up with 18X9 +53mm using my own crazy math/estimate.
Am I far off??
Thanks in advanced.

If you remove 4mm off the +48mm back pad you will end up with +52mm. To make this work and avoid rubbing you should do the following:
- Roll the metal portion of the fender lip and trim the plastic portion on the bumper/fender lip and you should be close.
- Also run a tire that has either a very small rim protector or none at all.
- Don't run wider than 245's on the 9" wheels to create a tire sidewall that is slightly stretched or angled toward the inside of the wheel well.
