Default Crap!

Just bought some used Ray's VRX wheels from a shop and I went to the tire shop today to test fit them again. The guy told me they stick out to much. They are 17x8 17x9 +44 offset. The guy told me fender rolling wont do it, but fender flares. would. anybody have any input on this? anyone know the price for fender flares? if its too much of a hassle, atleast i have store credit. They carry ALOT of wheels. please help. thanks-david

fender rolling and camber will solve this problem. At stock height it shouldn't be a problem...those sunk face emotions are 17x9 +44 in the rear and clear with camber and a roll, and you can even slam the car....just look at silentdancer's car...

what does camber do for the wheels sticking out.. does it bring it in more? also, will this adversely effect performance? if it doesnt do too much, then im going to do this.

Just spoke with Darin from West End alignment here in LA and he says if the wheel sticks out.. return them and get ones that fit. he says he sees too many s2ks and laughs at what they say will fit. im probably going to just return these for another set thatll fit.

with negative camber its going to "angle it in" if you will, it will give that low offset wheel more clearance....for example, -3 in the rear will clear a 17x9 +45 without rolling fenders

However, you will go through tires pretty quick with -3

i spoke with the guys i bought these wheels from over the phone to save me the trip. They said they have done an s2k with Work VS-XX 18x10 with +50 w/o rolling fenders. saw the pics and everything. one of the owners had an s2k with 17x9 with +47 and he didnt have to roll. I guess as long as im stock ride height. I went to Tire Pros today and the owner said they would not fit even with rolled fenders, that id have to get fender flares. they also said i could run a 235/40 on the rears (i guess that might be stretched). anyways, im going to hang on to these until i can test fit them with a tire tomorrow. anyone heard of F1 motorsports in North hollywood. im taking my car there tomorrow to see what they think. thanks for the input guys! -david

as long as you put the toe back to factory spec you will be fine. I've been running 2.5 degrees camber for a long time and I usually change out the rear tire every 12-15k miles. Toe out will wear the tire faster than camber will
