Correct offset for 17" TE37s?
Hey all, can someone help me out with the proper offset when moving up to a 17" wheel (Volk TE37) please?
I am looking specificially at:
F 17x7.5
R 17x8.5
Is +50 and +63 ideal?
+48 and +50?

+50 and +63 are offsets unique to CE28's, not TE37's.
For the TE37's you're going to have to get +48, +50 (which is fine also with the proper tire size and aggressive alignment). You can get custom sized TE37's in 17x7.5 +48, 17x9.0 +65 if you get a power buy of like 10 people.

On second glance it appears the TE37 is only available in the +48/+50. These offsets should be ok, correct? (going off the sticky wheel fitment guide)

Thanks guys. Any recommended tire sizes for 17x7.5 and 8.5 to maintain the stock rolling diameter? I know our rear tire is funky...

Yeup, you'll be fine with those offsets. I wouldn't go with anything wider than a 255 in the rear and 225 in the front though unless you really dial in some negative camber and get high spring rates.
EDIT: Stick with modest tire sizes. Stock '04 sizes would be ideal i think for that TE37 setup. Going with wider tires will just give you headaches with potential rubbing and such. Unless you plan on tracking with the te37's, REALLY need that minimal extra amount of grip, or just have to have the "look" of an aggressive looking stance from the rear, i don't see the need to up the tire size.

I'm not looking for max width in the rear (hence a 8.5" as opposed to a 9"), I just want a bit more rubber and a +1" wheel. I have no intentions of dumping the car to the ground.

The 225/255 is not needed. I would stick to 215/45/17, 245/40/17 for your TE37's if you really want to make sure that it doesn't rub. That will also maintain the stock ratio so that your speedo will still be accurate. That is already wider than your stock S02's and you will also gain the advantage of having a wider stance due to having lower offsets.
EDIT again LOL : I don't ever recall hearing that the rear AP2 tires are undersized like the S02. I'm 95% sure you stick with the same tire size as the stock RE050.
Here is just a reference, i was running a 17x7.5 +50 ce28 in the front with 225/45/17 sized es100s. I rubbed on hard dips on the freeway, shaved off all the plastic fender tabs, and also bent my passenger fender in coming into the driveway. The TE37 you're planning to get is going to stick +2mm more than the CE28. Also note that i was dumped (my car had a 1 finger gap in the front) and my alignment was not aggressive.

I'm running some racing hart wheels that are 17x8.5 rear offset 51 with stock 245-40 tires, with slight negative camber I still rub on hard bumps and thats with a 1 inch drop and koni set to the stiffest setting.....so you decide if you would still go with those te37s.....

Sucks. Thanks for the heads up. Does this mean that EVERYONE who runs TE37's is rubbing??? (or not lowered?)
