Conti DW or Michelin PSS?

Conti DW or Michelin PSS?
Need new tires for the S, I've heard good things about the Conti in regards to value and having good grip. I heard the side-walls are a bit soft though.
Heard some really good things about the PSS's but a set delivered and installed is about $850 vs. $600 for the Conti DW's.
Anybody chime in on these tires or a recommendation? These are going on a stock AP2, just really need excellent grip on roads in both dry and wet. Less road noise is a plus.
Thanks!

I have the DW and have 600 miles on them. They ride comfortably and are quiet. I took it out to my first road course on Sunday. I wish I could give you feedback on how they are on the track but I'm a complete newb.

Hi, I just put a set of the Conti's on my '05 and I love them. They're a lot nicer on brick streets and bumps in general. Quieter than the Hankooks they repaced.
Good grip too, but the guys who compete say the sidewalls are too compliant. If your not tracking it I think they're hard to beat. Supposed to be great in the wet too!

I think you're going to have a hard time finding someone who has tried BOTH of these tires and can compare them in an objective manner. Instead what you're going to get is a bunch of opinions based on hearsay.
I was in a similar decision a while back and went with the PSS for the higher grip and slightly more responsive handling. So far I'm extremely happy with them. They ride quiet and smooth. They also have an absolutely staggering amount of grip. On clean, dry pavement I have yet to get them to break loose. I've thrown myself into corners where I was honestly very scared and these tires pulled me out looking like a champ. I could get the RE050 to break loose and slide fairly predictably with aggressive driving. These things just don't break loose regardless how how I drive (even borderline reckless). On wet pavement I've had no issues with traction or hydroplaning at all, even in standing water.
So regardless of the high price of the PSS, I'm extremely happy with them. If you want the best all around street tire, I'd say they're worth a good hard look. That said, the DW is a fine tire for those on more of a budget.

I would recommend the PSS if money is no issue.

I also have the PSS on my car. Like stated above, I have not been able to get the back end to come out of sharp corners. They just STICK to the ground. Also a very quiet and smooth riding tire. No question I will get another set of these.

having owned only DW but driven on both
PSS: more expensive, marginally more dry grip, more responsive
DW: cheaper, unbeatable in the wet, not as responsive, slightly more comfy ride
I went with DW because I DD the car and liked the combo of price and wet performance, I have another set of rims with Hankook RS3's for autocross and such.
overall, it depends on what you are looking for and what your budget is.

i love my conti DW's, they handled just fine at the track and are extremely quiet on the highways, they absorb bumps well on city streets and decrease the road noise inside the cabin quite a bit. Went through a horrible downpour and felt safe with no hydroplaning at all. They definitely dont have star spec/rs3 dry grip but they grip much better than the stock re050's i thought. Im running -2.5 degrees of camber in the rear and they wear pretty even after 6k miles.
