Confused... please help.
ok. so i need new tires and i will probably check out costco.
What are So2? I hear a lot about it and i haev no idea.
I drive normally. I am in LA so not a lot of rain. Every now and then i drive pretty agressivly, but never track racing or street racing. I guess i just want a pretty good tire that will last.
any suggestions?
and am i correct with
front: 245/45/16 and 205/55/16?
is there any way / reason why i wouldn't get these sizes?
any pricing ballpark?

The tires that come on the car from the factory are a special version of Bridgeston's Potenza S02. Where ever you get the tires, if you decide to go with the S02s, MAKE SURE THEY ARE THE S2000 SPECIFIC ONES. They only come in sizes 205/55/16 front and 225/50/16 rear.
A pretty good tire that will last, IMO, is the Kumho Ecsta 712. The best sizes for those are 205/55/16 front and 245/45/16 rear. Nearly half the price of the S02s, but not as good performance.

thank to all for the advice.
Since i dont do much very very agressive driving, i think i will go with the Kuhmo 712's.
will there be a problem if i just replace the back and not the front?
what is a good price for the Kuhmos?

I think I can beat Costco's prive for the tires. The rear tire would be 90.00 each and about 8.00 shipping per tire. It is never the best to just change rear tires but you wont hurt the car to do it. The handling is not as good as the S02 so you will end up with oversteer in extreme conditions.
The tire size if you go to the Kumho should be a 245/45R16 ot keep the same width as the OE tire.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

Well so it happens, my front tires are fine. So it looks like it's either
so2's for the back.... 225/50/16
or
so3's - 245/45
i would assume all this is correct.
i am still waiting to hear from costco on the prices if they order.
if not, i will most likely go through tirerack since he does so much for this place. i assume there is come guarantee... and costco i hear charges on 10 bucks a tire to put them on.
these sizes are right, right?

Assuming the S02's are the correct S2000 S02's, then YES right. You'll want 245/45/16 if you get the S03's
Just to let you know here in AZ the S03 245/45/16 size tires were $159/ea from CostCo. No matter where you get the tires CostCo, TireRack, Les Schwab, Big O, etc. you're going to have to pay to get them mounted and balanced, usually about $15/tire.
IMO TireRack is the way to go, CostCo is going to have to order them anyway. TireRack can probably have them to you faster, and you're helping out the s2ki.com.
