No way that's 285/40/18. That's way too tall. It would be 285/30/18.

^^ Be nice to find out what offset those rear wheels are so I know in what ballpark to order/look for wheels in for mine. I want to do the same thing in a few months when I throw on the smaller pulley and get retuned to hopefully to 400/250. 350/230 is getting old on the street.

They are going to be +70-72 FYI. If you don't mind rolling your fenders, you can push them out an additional 20mm. So +50-55. This is the range your working with on a 10.5/285 combo.

I remember a 17 x 10 +71. A 10.5 +60 would be pretty sweet. What would be a good tire size 285-35-17

Yep, but no one makes that size. You have to step up to the Extreme Summer Kuhmo SX Like i'm running, which is in a 295 size. The other problem is it runs more then 10mm wider then this 285/30 being showcased, and it wont fit without running a wider rim to spread the sidewall enough when you throw camber/alignment into the equation. I've got mine on a 11.5" wheel +63 and its barely stretched. A narrower rim at the same offset wont fit the stock fender well. I literally have 1mm clearance on the outside and inside under full Susp compression. I had to bang in the inner fender well and shock tower a few mm to get the tire and rim bead to not rub.

So realistically if your going to stick with a 17, your looking at 255" a few 265 options and then the 275. But your compromising your gearing/sidewall height with the 265/275, so it is a bit more compromise then some care for. 18's give you more options to run wider but maintain more OEM overall diameter.

Good to know, S2000Junky, My rear fenders are a little flared, cut and clear coated(Used to run 9.5 +38 a few years ago) but I still want to get a less aggressive wheel so I don't have to run more than -1.5 camber(maybe, big maybe, go as high as -2 degrees on the street). If you say 10.5 +50-55, I would look into a +60 just to be safe. I want as much tire on the ground that I can put down for maximum traction clearing both the inside and outside of the stock fenders.

Currently looking into:
18x9.5"(+50-55 offset) wheels w/ a 255/265 tires for the front.
18x10.5"(+60-65 offset) wheels w/ a 275/285 tires for the rear.
