Default Cheap tire choices: Nankang, Federal, Hankook

Whats with these brands? I have not heard of them before, and basically, they are dirt cheap 18 inch tires. Anyone has any impressions with them? Allegedly, they are rated A's on: temperature, traction rating, and Y-rated.
They go for something like 80 bucks a tire new.

I have a feeling, as most things in life, they're cheap for a reason...

I wouldnt trust your car, and more importantly, your life, to cheap tires.

Yup. That's why I'm switching over to solid gold Daytons like Snoop has...They're crazy expensive (e.g. good)

well both nankang and wanli has the ISO9001 - the international standard of quality- which is not an easy feat. I'm currently doing more research before putting my life in jeopardy.

I would recommend staying away from cheap tires in general and Hankook tires in particular. There was a member who had his Hankooks delaminate on the freeway from normal driving. The tread basically separated from the tire and he hit a center divider. In the long run, it could add up to an expensive mistake..

One of my friends runs them on his show car, and they bubble badly.Im not too sure if thats a safety hazard problem, but it doesnt say much for their construction.
