centering Rings are they Needed?
Ok so I just put my new wheels and tires on today. I got enkei rpf1's 17x9 all the way around with 255/40/17 all the way around. Jim at tire rack was telling me that with the centering rings the rear wheels would not fit on the front but they do, so i have no idea if i have them on there right. Do i even need centering rings? Also ive seen plenty of people with 17x9 all the way around and their wheels dont stick out from the fenders. On mine the rear is fine however the front stick out from the fender about a cm is this because of the centering rings? I think tire rack didnt give me the right rings for the front any insight would be much appreciated thanks!

They stick out more in the front because you are running non-staggered and the rear can fit lower offsets. There should be 2 different size rings because the front and rear hubs are different diameters. If a ring was preventing a wheel from sitting flush on the hub it would stick out about 5mm and should be immediately noticeable because you would only get about 4 lug turns. You need a lot of front camber to tuck in a 9" +45 front wheel and 255 tire.
