2. You said a better ride....give me your definition of better ride.
A higher sidewall will give a more complient ride.

3. How am I wrong on ABS operation?.
The wheel speed is not a comparison between front and rear, rather each individual corner (in the case of a 4 channel system) and road speed. When a wheel locks up, the wheel speed is essentially zero. Put it this way, what would happen if while braking, you happened to be going around a tight corner? The wheel speed of the inside wheel is much slower that the wheel speed of the outside wheel. In this instance, the ABS would activate b/c it sensed that the inside wheels were travelling slower than the outside wheels. For this reason alone, as long as the all wheels are turning at some rate >0 (dependant upon the manufacturer's algorithim), the ABS will not activate. So, a 2.8% difference in wheel diameter means d!ck to the ABS system.

rear 16x7.5 fits a 265 fine,

front u need 225/50 NOT 225 /55..

or even 205/55 front to counteract the understeer'ness

I'm going to have to disagree with this. A 245 tire on a 7.5" rim is pushing the limits since the recommended rim width range is 8" to 9.5".
A 265 tire needs a 8.5" to 10" rim.
This is a commonly accepted standard for the tire industry. A 265 will not fit "fine" on a 7.5" rim. Sure, you can wedge that thing on there, but the bead will be pulled in so far that it doesn't have the proper angle to seal onto the rim flange. Furthermore, you would have to reduce tire pressures so much just to equalize the footprint pressure on the ground as to make it dangerously low and heat from tire flex becomes a real issue. You may get away with it depending upon the driving conditions of the owner of such a set-up, but they certainly are not a safe or confident way to go.

xviper, i used to own and run 3 different car accessory store and made custom wheels.. with a 40 series on a 265. (100mm+) sidewall it will fit fine.

same as putting a 225 on a 6.5.

safe/confident.

now. if it were a 17x7.5 i WOULD NOT put a 265.. only because the profile of the tire makes it doable.

if you dont wanna dont, im just coming from had-done and been-done standpoint.

I'm sure you just want to help. So do we all.
I'm going to just leave this now. If Jim wants to comment, he may do so.

u warming them up too?

sounds to me like ur VERY novice.. thinking proxy 4 are better grip than AVS es 100.

better grip.... run like some compound tires..

im sorry but theirs no ways ur properly pushing your tires to the limits.. w/ 245 avs in rear..

if your ass is sliding now w/ 245's then learn to clutch better and drive better.
Of course the tires will warm up when I run the car hard.

I sound novice? When did I say that Proxy4's are better grip than AVS ES100's?

And why won't I be able to push the car to its limits with ES100's? The limit of the car changes every time you mod it.

I know how to drive the S, and I sure know how to clutch and drive.

Please read and TRY to comprehend what I say before you open your mouth.

Kthxbye.

Btw,

im sorry but theirs no ways ur properly pushing your tires to the limits.. w/ 245 avs in rear..
There is IS NOT THE SAME AS "theirs."

Haha.. I dunno about ya'll but to me this just STOOD out.. You USED to own and run 3 different etc. etc etc.. why is it used to be? Giving out bad advice?

Just thought i'd ask.

And honestly, talking about tires to me, is along the same lines of speaking Arabic..backwards. But a 265 on our rim.. Haha.. That would be like putting a 400 lbs women in a corset.. But hey, like you said, to each their own. We all own S2k's, stop drinking the hatorade.
