can we mix S02 with S03
I have about 20K miles on mine (hwy miles unfortunately) and it looks like i have about 10% left on my rears. The front looks like it has about 60% left. My question is, can i mix the different tire compounds? Can I use OEM fronts with S03 rears (245/45/16)? Is there a good reason for doing/not doing this?
Thanks all!
Thanks all!

You can as long as you dont mind the handling to get worse. There isnt much stickier than the stock S0-2's the 03's arnt near as good. If I got 20k out of S02's i would be very happy!

The car will always handle the best with the same tire on all four corners. You will not be the first person to run the tires together though. My suggestion is to get the S02 to wear out together and then change to the S03 if you want to at that time.
If I cna help let me know.
Thank you

As others have implied, you are likely to induce oversteer during hard driving by having substantially stickier front tires than rear tires (OEM S02s are stickier than S03s). Thus from a handling perspective, I think it would be better to simultaneously switch to a new type of tire front and rear.

I have been driving with the stock S-02s in the front and S-03 PPs in the rear for 5000 miles and have been very happy with the performance. I haven't done any auto-x or track driving, but in everyday driving and in the twisties, I haven't had any problems. I get slight oversteer when I drive near my limit, but nothing to worry about. If you drive it really hard (doubtful if you got 20K out of the original rears, I only made it 11K), you might have more of a problem.
