Default Can I Use Different Size Tires For My Car?

I have 18x7.5's in the front and 18x8's in the rear. These are Volk GT'7's with 50 offset all the way around. I currently have Nitto 555's on them and not to fond of the limited choices of tires to choose from in the current size I have.

The tire sizes are as follows:

Fronts 225/40 zr18
Rears 255/35 zr18

Can I fudge some of these numbers to get other tires to work or is that a no go.
Also I am on a 1"Eibach drop and rub on occassion.

First off the 255/35R18 does not fit the 18X8 wheel correctly. You would be much better off with 225/40R18 and 245/35R18 on the rear. Take a look at the Goodyear GSD-3 in those sizes. They will fit the car and the wheel much better.
If I can help give me a call.
Thank you
