Can I fit 235/45/17 on '04 FRONT stock wheel ?

WHile it will work on the car it won't work on the car correctly. The 235/45R17 is goiong to be taller than the OE tires and will probably throw off your anti lock brakes. If it was this size all the way around or matched with the 255/40R17 rear it would at least work better.

I have a similar question. I bought the Michelin PSC, which are fine tires on a dry track. However, I am finding (i) they are not good on a wet track, and (ii) it rains a lot here (Seattle).
So, I'm planning to buy unshaved RA-1s to use when things are wet. It looks as if the most friendly sizes for my MY04 on OEM 17" wheels are 235/45-17 front, and 255/40-17 rear.
I'm concerned that there may be rubbing on the front, and I'm mildly concerned with oversteer with this setup (although I can dial up my Gendron bar, I suppose).
Thanks for any helpful comments.

I'm not familiar with the RA-1's if they run a little narrower than the stock RE050's.

I'd love to do 225 front and 255 rear, as I did with the PSC. However, the RA-1 (the tire of choice in this very wet part of the world) does not come in 225, so the closest I can come is 235/45-17 front and 255/40-17 rear.
