Calling All Offset/HellaFlush Guru's
So I am very close to sucking it up and buying these old school BBS Sterns 2 Piece wheels off ebay:
Specs are:
17X8 +36 17x9 +42
I am new to the s2K...and am curious how much work will be involved in getting these to fit/clear all around.
My ideal tire set up would be a 225 and a 255 front and rear. I have access to rolling my fenders for free...but would rather not be forced to run a large amount of negative camber. Car is on stock suspension for now...but when coilovers are put on I do not like to be super slammed or anything.
Who has had similar set-ups that wants to talk about it?

You can make it work, but be prepared to run up to -3 camber front and rear, which is more then ideal for the street, but not for the track. You will need to flip your tires have way through thier wear cycle. I would strongly consider running the stock 215 up front on that rim width/offset. This will give you the slight tire stretch you need to keep things reasonable fitment wise, it will look better anyway. The rear you will just want to do the roll and likely the bumper tab relocate for when your lowered, you could probably keep the camber about -2 to -2.5 then.
Just fyi- With my car lowered 2" with fenders cut and bumper tab relocated, I was able to fit a 255 on a 9.5/+38 wheel at -3 camber. You are sitting a bit better with your less aggressive +42, but your also on a narrower rim so your 255 wont have much stretch to help tuck in under susp travel so that’s against you, but likely is a wash because of your less aggressive offset. I say go for it. 215/255. Or if you want to be consistent with a similar slightly stretched profile tire that has a nice stance, go with 215/245.

If I were to stay with the stock suspension, do you think I will need all that negative camber?
Rolling is a freebie for me, so taht's not an issue. I really don't want to go through tires as fast as I would with -2.5...I also hate the way streched tires look :-(
Hoping I could get away with ~-1.0-1.5 camber all around on stock suspension. 215/245 or 215/255 would be fine for tires.

If I go with these they will be taken apart and the center will be powdercoated...probably flat black.

So many decisions. Looks like I have to come to grips with the fact that if I want a big fat lip I have to roll with a good amount of negative camber. Grrrrrr

I'm running 17x9 +43 all around with 255/40's front and rear. Rear will definitely require a roll, rear bumper trim and tab relocation. Front needed a slight roll and some modification to the splash guards but nothing crazy, I may have to roll some more after an alignment.

I feel like I have seen much more agressive wheels than these. The rears probably just need the roll and tab relo, maybe just the slightest flare. Fronts definately need a roll and maybe alittle flare. There is a local here running 17x9.5 with 255's all around and he doesn't run alot of camber but he also isn't lowered that much. The front will be where you may have to have some camber but I think even 3 degrees is a bit much. Buy the wheels and get tires on them and put them on the car. That will tell you just what you are looking at. Also the front fenders are much easier to replace with something alittle wider like the downforce fenders. They look great.
