Buying Tires off a Wrecked S2000....Would you?
I have an opportunity to buy the rear tires off this poor '02:
They are willing to sell the pair to me for $90, and considering Tire rack sells a pair of rears for $270 new( a great price, no doubt), that's a HUGE savings. I can't justify passing this up. But I am not sure if there is anything I should look out for when getting tires off a wrecked car. As you can see, there is no damage to the rear, so the tires should be fine, no? I'm going to do a visual inspection before I purchase, but could the tires have any structural defects caused by the wreck that I might not be able to see? Tell me what you think (or better yet...know).

I don't think there are any problems with it. Just make sure there are no flat spots on the tires.
Do you know the owner? Find out what happend and gauge it on how the accident happened. If it was sliding sideways then i am sure there are a few flat (bald) spots on the tires.
