Default BSPK Forged Wheels - Long term review

I have not seen BSPK Forged mentioned on these forums, but I was very fortunate to have been referred to them by the S2000 Track community when I was looking for some custom wheels that would fit my configuartion and class rules.

John, is the owner and operator of BSPK and I've been so pleased with his wheels, customer service, and offerings that I wanted to share my experience in case others may want to check them out. John/BSPK has a huge following with the Alfa 4C crowd, but he doesn't do much advertising aside from word of mouth. I correspond with him primarly on Facebook (John BSPK).

Please note: I am not affiliated with the company or owner at all, just a satisfied and repeat customer.

Wheel Specs:
Fully forged 6061-T6 Aluminum
17x10" + 50mm offset
600KG load rating/wheel
Knurled beads
Weight: 18 lbs on my corner balance scales
Custom engineered fitment/clearance inspired by the Volk CE28 look
Clears Stoptech C43 BBK by a country miles
Fits stock body work with flat roll on 255/40/17 (Maxxis RC1)

Ordering Process:
I consulted John directly to see if he would be interested in creating a wheel that would be inspired by the CE28 look and to the specs that I needed for my use case. John was up for it, so I placed an order on the website to kick start the process. My requirements for the wheel was that it needed to clear my Stoptech C43 BBK naturally,17x10, fit stock bodywork with a roll, be lightweight and strong!

My requirements were captured, then he requested the BBK template if I had one, axle weights, and my design inspirations.

We corresponded for about a week, then he came back with some spec suggestions, renderings, and some FEA analysis for load ratings. After all the details was confirmed and color choice finalized, he submitted the order to production. 2 months later, the wheels were complete at the factory!

The entire process took roughly 3.5 months for my wheels since John had to play with the color to ensure it matched what I was looking for. During this whole time, John was extremely communicative and provided status updates throughout the process.

He can make you anything your heart desires and I just can't believe his pricing. It's not much more than off the shelf flow formed wheels, but they're fully forged and designed for you. It's rare for me to ever make an advertrisement for a company, but John definitely deserves the awareness.

Unboxing:

Test fitment

Weighing

Compared to the Wed SA72R in 17x10 +55: Reduction in 2lbs based on my corner weight scales

Stance/final mounting & 6 month review (2 race weekends, and lots of testing days later)

Final thoughts
These wheels are holding up very well with track abuse and brake dust. They are the best fitting wheels with these specs I've had so far. Does not rub the upper control arm at full lock and does not rub tires under full compression with my fender rolling and alignment specs, which were issues I had with my other set of 17x10's.

So far, I've been so pleased with the wheels, his customer service, and pricing that I have a second set for the race car in the works and a set for my Jaguar F type was delivered over the weekend.

I highly suggest you pay him consideration if you want a fully forged custom designed or custom spec wheel. What you get for his pricing is extraordinary!

Slightly off topic. But I think I see SPL SPC offset upper control arm spindle joints. Am I correct? Did you run the wheels without them at first at all to test clearance? I know it's tangential but I'm mulling over fitment options as I have Apex 17x10+48s sitting around waiting to be mounted. Rep gray area aside I'll keep BSPK in mind if I need super custom specs.

Edit: SPC, not SPL

Yes, good eye! I do have SPC Camber UCA ball joints in the front. I did not run them without those camber BJ's prior, unfortunately.

Congrats on the wheels! They look fantastic! I just wanted to give John a recommendation as well as he built me a set if wheels for my Guilia Quadrifoglio. Hands down the best quality wheel you can get for the price. Well worth it! I am tempted to get a second set for my s2k and take the meisters off. Here is my set on the QV.

I got these from John last year, he is the man, no issues with the order, I asked a lot of questions. And this is an 08 car so I didn’t want to deal with the TPMS light, he even help me with that as well.

Well. I just ordered 5 wheels (Teresa style) in 18x10.5 +65. Will report back in a number of months.

John has been awesome to communicate with so far. At the very early stages of the build process - he's currently getting some renderings of the wheel together.

My plan is to stuff 265 square under OEM fenders, and depending on how that works out, i might push the limit and try to shove 285 square under there.

What's the cost for the set of wheels?
