Default Bridgestone Fuzions

On the advice of Jim, I bought a set of the new Bridgestone Fuzion tires. Since these tires are not yet listed on the Tirerack stie, I'll give my impression thus far. I selected these tire because I don't push my car very hard and felt like I was wasting money on the SO2's. I wanted a longer lasting tire that was still decent in the corners. Well, that's exactly what I got. At least the cornering part of the equation. I compared these tires to the SO2's on a familiar high speed sweeping right turn and found them to be noticeably less competent. They should be a good rain tire though. The price is nearly half that of the SO2's. In the end, if they prove to be long-wearing, I'll be content. Thanks for the advice, Jim.

I now have about 2000 miles on the Fuzions and have made an observation about their performance. A couple of days ago, I made a run north on hwy 15 from Morganza, Louisiana up to Ferriday. This highway is in good condition and has some very fun high speed sweepers and some tighter twisting turns. No doubt about it, the Fuzions are a step down from the SO2's. I misjudged one particular turn that I first thought would be a high speed sweeper but was a bit sharper than anticipated. I entered the turn commited at 88mph. I knew not to lift off the throttle and risk a nasty spin and crash so I just held my speed steady. The car went into a 4-wheel drift to the outside of the turn. The tires squealed a little but the car still tracked straight and true. It scared me severely but it sure was fun!
