Those numbers in the tire size? They mean something. Your homework assignment is to figure out what they mean and why a 225/65-16 is not a great idea. Feel free to click on the Tire Rack banner above to find out what the ramifications are going from a 225/50-16 to a 225/65-16.

That said, I guess there aren't really any 225/50-16 winter tires available any more...

For good snow performance, I'd recommend Dunlop WinterSport 3D in either 215/55-16 all around or 205/55-16 front with 215/55-16 rears. 215/55-16 is slightly taller and slightly narrower than the stock 225/50-16 rears (and slightly taller/slightly wider vs. stock fronts), will work fine.

FWIW, I've been running 205/55-16 WinterSport 3D in front and 225/50-16 WinterSport M3 in back for several seasons now, but the 225/50-16 M3 is no longer available.

It looks like the WS60 doesn't even come in 225/65-16, did you mean 225/55-16? That would be an inch taller than stock, which is HUGE, but you might be able to run them.

Also, you'll be running winter tires up front as well, right?
