Has anyone from the forum tried BFG g-Force COMP-2 A/S?


Some background info:
- Live in Northern CA, it doesn't really get below freezing here
- El Nino rain might be a real thing this year, wet traction is a must


This is coming from my current setup; Front: RE-11 / Rear: RE-11A (both OEM size), stock suspension
- There wasn't much rain last winter, and temps were pretty mild. Loved how they handled, even moderate/heavy rains (not often) last year.

Id probably stick with the RE11a if you liked them for your environment. Or even consider the replacement R-71. Any all season tire is going to be a real downgrade in handling and dry traction performance. Id rather drive like a civil person in the wet on extreme summers that do ok on the wet and not give anything up when things dry out for the majority of the year. I live in Seattle and still feel this way.

 

I've pulled the trigger on the BFG's... Worse case is I don't like them I can sell them and the winter won't be that wet this year.

 

They are one of the grippiest all season tires for sure by the looks on tire racks testing. But I'm with Junky, come summer time or even when it is 60 degrees and dry I prefer to have a set of tires that will grip as good or better than the factory ones that came on the car. Not sure if two sets are necessary where you are or not in northern CA where it rarely ever gets below 40ish? But here in the PNW I run all season uhps for late fall-early spring and they'd be perfect for that--I don't drive the s2k in snow/ice.

 

I agree with using them in the colder weather. They will not be anywhere near the traction of the Bridgestone. The BFG will be better in temps below 45 degrees.

 

These tires will hold me over until this spring when I plan on doing a wheel/tires upgrade (squared setup) and probably track days.

Keep us posted regarding the performance of BFG g-Force COMP-2 A/S. Saw good reviews online about them but I would like to see some feedback from s2k owners.

 

I've had them on for about 2 weeks now. Still haven't driven them in rain just yet. There have been some pretty heavy down pours.

They're def not as grippy as the RE11s, but not bad for a A/S tire. Def some squirm when cornering. I'll report back after the release mold has burned off and I get a chance to drive in the rain.

They're by no means an extreme summer performance tire, but they're more than adequate as a street tire. You DO NOT need a 200TW tire to enjoy your car. I had them on my car when I daily drove it, and ran them for about 16,xxx miles, three track days, a 3000 mile trip to the dragon, and they were great and extremely effective in all conditions, especially in the rain.

 

This is the most outlandish thing I have ever read on S2ki.
