I don't think that is the case. I've heat cycled out pretty much every R comp I drove on the street, always before the tire was technically finished. That won't be the case for everyone else, but for me it has been.
I guess it all depends on lots of short trips Vs. fewer longer trips, for me, bald has been equal to hard rubber

Of course and how much heat you actually put into your tires driving around. I tend to get my tires warm when I street drive them .

nice info guys i think im going to go ahead and get the RS-3s been reading alot and they seem to be a great track/weekendable tire and this price is right. ill be ordering them this week and will post up to let everyone know how they perform
