Ive been pretty busy lately with work and trying to get my turbo install situated. Once I get a bit of free time where I can drive a little rather than commute, Ill try to get you guys some more info. Right now though it seems like a pretty good tire. Definitely has better grip than the Hankooks I had before, but Ive only been able to push it in a couple of blacktop corners on my way to work.

Best tire FOR THE STREET?
Michelin Pilot Super Sport, hands down.
Extreme Performance category tires are WAY overprescribed in these forums! The best Max Perf tires offer the same real-world street performance in the dry with much better resistance to hydroplaning.
Kumho XS is a particularly poor choice for street/DD because of the poor wet grip in addition to reduced hydroplaning resistance vs. best Max Perf tires.

I was in your boat when I was looking for new tires- I came from hankook v12's and while they were nice, I wanted something with a little more grip and stiffer sidewalls. I was considering RE11A's but I don't track the car (sadly) and after researching and reading so many reviews I went with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. They are much more expensive than the v12's but they are worth it IMO. No regrets purchasing them, you will definitely be happy with them And there's a $70 rebate thru tirerack if you order them now

Well, based on availability (needing them quickly) and near future consideration, I decided to go ahead and give the BFG Comp 2's a try. Ill let you guys know how they work out after I get a little time on them.
As for the future... My turbo should be on next week and assuming things go well at contract time this summer, Ill be buying new wider wheels and tires for the car anyway. Im thinking I will go with either a 285 or 295 rear and maybe try to squeeze a 265 on up front. Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone

I've been waiting for someone to do a full review on this tire. According to the tests and reviews I've read online, they seem to be a great tire for the price (esp. since I have 18" wheels)
I'll be looking forward to your review.

"The Comp-2 was very easy to control and smooth but gave lower lateral G-force results – roughly 0.8g. I wanted more, and slid into the BFG Rival equipped car. Rich of my first experience, I managed to get the car on the line a little better and play with the throttle so that it was not a total embarrassment, and that landed me a decent 1.16g of lateral force."
I was floored! 0.8g vs 1.16g!!!! This is a huge difference and convinced me not to cheap out and purchase only Extreme performance tires, which I will do once I decide between the Z2, RE11A and the Rivals. True, I may never reach the performance level the tires are capable of but hopefully I will be able to enjoy the car even more than I do now. I'm still running the stock OEM 050s. These tires have lasted me almost 6 years (only 140 UTQ rating too, although I know this is not necessarily an accurate indicator) so I do expect to use these tires for a while.

Michelin PSS for the street for sure. Extreme performance category is when you track your car and so they have compromises. The Michelins though have grip right away without the need to warmup, work in colder temperatures, and in the wet they are really really really good unlike most extreme performance tires

I have to agree about the pilot super sports!
Also, nice Z car! Is that a 280? I had a 1978 280z in blue and loved it!
