Thanks for the suggestions guys. I got out of the car and loooked back and it was so obvious I felt like I got slapped! hahaha! Im going to inquire about a few of the above and will decide tomorrow. Ive read good stuff about the RE11's so I may lean towards them. I may also look into the Kumho Ecsta MX XRP. Noise doesnt really matter either... My car is so loud, it drowns out everything else.
Ive never run the Kuhmo MX XRP, but those aren't going to be in the same league for grip that SX are. Just FYI the SX was the only tire TireRack was able to break 1G on the dry skidpad with their test vehicl out of any of the other Extreme summer tires line up. Handling precision is excellent with these as well, given the proper width rim, as with most tires. They are fussier though, with less then stellar wet traction and a narrower heat range that you can find max grip in (they need to be hot) to get a proper representation. They do heat up rather quickly though in the right environment. In my experience, the SX seems to mimic more of how an R comp does. I'm not sure why more people don't run them, especially when you consider they cost very similar to an RS3, which is about as inexpensive as you can get these days. All I can think of is community like ours seem to like to stick to something that's proven to them and not explore much even if there is something better out there. Just the nature of things. But as mentioned with such a focused dry traction tire like the SX, its wear isn't quite as good as some of the other extreme summer tires if that's also important to you.
FWIW Ive run the Ecsta XS in 255 all around before. The car is daily driven but sees a lot of track time and this is based specifically from a track perspective. I will agree tha they did have great dry traction and took heat well but R-S3s are hands down faster and last longer (for me anyways) while being cheaper. The grip is also more consistent with the R-S3s, they seem to be fast down to the cords where I noticed that by my 4th track day the XSs were heat cycled out and the car became a little harder to drive and slower lap times were obviously the result. Still a great tire and I will undoubtedly try the new version (Ecsta V720) when it comes to the US.

Nice to get some experienced feedback on these tires from someone other then myself

I'm running them in 255/295 Stagger. And unfortunate for me the 295 SX are not being produced at the moment, so I'm stuck running a used pair of Hoosier A6 slicks on the street until then bcuase they are the only other tire manufacture that produces a 295/35/17 and that will fit on my 11.5" rims.

i was going to ask about these tires but didn't feel it was worthy of a thread. i see they outperform a lot of tires in their class and are better than the kdw's. Im between these tires ($536 before shipping) ZII ($696 before shipping) and the new RE11a's. I would like them to last a decent while*as in at least 2 years ~20k miles) im unable to rotate them due to staggered fitment, however my car is turbo between 400-500hp (not tuned yet). any input? sizes are 225/45/17 and 255/40/17

Well, based on availability (needing them quickly) and near future consideration, I decided to go ahead and give the BFG Comp 2's a try. Ill let you guys know how they work out after I get a little time on them.

As for the future... My turbo should be on next week and assuming things go well at contract time this summer, Ill be buying new wider wheels and tires for the car anyway. Im thinking I will go with either a 285 or 295 rear and maybe try to squeeze a 265 on up front. Thanks for the suggestions and help everyone

Best tire FOR THE STREET?

Michelin Pilot Super Sport, hands down.

Extreme Performance category tires are WAY overprescribed in these forums! The best Max Perf tires offer the same real-world street performance in the dry with much better resistance to hydroplaning.

Kumho XS is a particularly poor choice for street/DD because of the poor wet grip in addition to reduced hydroplaning resistance vs. best Max Perf tires.

I've been waiting for someone to do a full review on this tire. According to the tests and reviews I've read online, they seem to be a great tire for the price (esp. since I have 18" wheels)

I'll be looking forward to your review.

Tx2k make sure you reply back with a review. Im looking to buy some tires by April. Hopefully they're pretty good. I think for especially the price compared to others in the same category. I cant justify spending 1k on tires if my car just spins wot at low speeds either way lol

I'd also appreciate feedback on the BFG SC-2. I've been researching the crap out of current tires (for 95% street use) since I plan to get a set this month. I have it down to BFG SC-2, HTR Z3, and Goodyear Eagle F1 A2...

I'd agree with this but for street only where longevity is concerned, RE-11a's and ZII's are almost too much tire as both are designed with some track time and autox in mind. Look to the Potenza S-04 Pole Position, they're inexpensive and get very good reviews/survey results on Tirerack and they should get to 20k without too much trouble based on the UTQG rating.
