Default Best Tire Size

I am getting 18" rims on my car. I don't think they are really lightweight so I don't want to lose performance by going too wide on the tire. What do you think of 225/35/18 for front and 245/35/18 for rear?? What do you guy think of Toyo Proxes T1-S

BTW should I get 18 x 7.5 or 18 x 8

You should get 2 different sizes because staggered tires should have staggered rims. You've forgotten one critical factor - offset. Without the correct offset on the rims, it doesn't matter what you get. They won't work right.
You should try for 225 in front and 255 in rear, both in the appropriate aspect ratio to keep more or less the same diameter as stock, which is about 25". If your car is lowered, this may not apply.

yes, i am getting my car lowered. This is too complicated though. I don't understand what to look for when buying rims.
Which one should I choose if I am going with 225/35/18 front and 245/35/18 rear tires.
18x7?? 18x7.5?? 18x8?? also 5x100?? 5x114.3??

can you help me out?? Where does it say the offset

First of all, you shouldn't be running these:
225/35/18 front and 245/35/18 rear tires
What I mean is that you have different widths tires from front to rear, so you need to adjust the aspect ratio so that both front and rear will be about the same diamter. This is the "35" the sizing. Next, you must find out from the manufacturer of the tire, what aspect ratio for each width you want, will have about the same diameter as what came with the car (~25") so that speedometer and odometer aren't changed. So, go to the website of the tire maker you want and see what profile (or aspect ratio) of tire in the 225 X 18" will give you about 25". Do the same for the 245 tire.
BTW, if you are lowering, I would suggest you go for 215 to avoid rubbing issues. I'm only guessing here as I don't what kind of tire or sizing you will finally end up with but for the front, you might want to go 215/45/18 (or maybe 215/40/18) front and 245/40/18 (or maybe 245/35/18) rear. You need to check to see which of these have the proper diameter.

An 18 X 7.5 rim will work for a 225 tire and an 18 X 9 rim will work for a 245 tire. (You vary these by +/- 0.5")

We have 5 X 114.3 lug pattern. The offset should be about +55mm front and +65mm rear (give or take a few mm). Offset can be found stamped on the rim somewhere but not always. You may have to ask the rim maker what the offset is.

Or even better, go to the TireRack site and punch in the infor for your year of S2000, then go see what kinds of tires they recommend in the 18" size. They'll give you all the choices that will fit for a non-lowered car. Then you might want to consider going one width size smaller (for the fronts more so than the rears) for a lowered car, unless you plan to roll your fenders.

one more thing guys, i found probably 500 different rims in wheelmax.com but they are saying the offset won't be ok. I was told that I should get close to 50 for fronts and close to 60 ofset for rears. can someone tell me where i can get this kind of rims?? I saw someone said Advan Model 5 fits S2000 perfect with no rubbing. I checked their website and the offsets are 30 and 45. how is it possible?? i am really confused about this wheel thing.

If you check out some of the board sponsors, you may find some of them sell rims. Since they are sponsors here, they have access to rims that will fit this car perfectly. For example, Volk Racing makes several different models of rims that will fit this car.
Also, if you go to the TireRack site and select rims for "S2000", you will see quite a few selections that will work.

You really need to be careful with the offset to make them clear on the car. After you choose the wheel you like you can then decide what tires will best fit them and the car.
If I can help let me know.
